  • No account, no login, and no cloud storage.
  • Your files are opened, created, and extracted on the device and are not uploaded to our servers.
  • No advertising, no analytics SDK, no IDFA or tracking, and no user profiling.
  • Only preferences and playback history are stored by the App itself, in local storage.

1. Scope and product purpose

This Policy applies to the UnzipDeck app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, identified as com.kewoku.archiver. The App is provided and operated by Xinxiang Kewoku Software Development Co., Ltd., a company registered in China, referred to as “we.”

UnzipDeck is a local file manager, archive tool, and media player. The files you choose are opened, created, extracted, played, and previewed only on your own device. We do not receive, hold, or remotely access those files.

2. Information processed on the device

Files and archives: the folders, files, and archives you open through the App or the system file picker, together with file names, locations, sizes, and the folder structure inside an archive; plus temporary files and thumbnails created to compress, extract, preview, or play content.

Archive settings: the archive format and options you choose, the extraction destination, whether the source archive is deleted after a successful extraction, integrity-check results, and the password for an encrypted archive if you choose to remember it (kept in local storage only).

Playback and preferences: playback progress and playback history (kept in the App local database), the playback engine and playback options, theme color, dark mode, and other interface preferences (kept in local preferences).

This information is selected by you or generated on the device when you use the relevant feature. The App does not collect your name, phone number, email address, account, device identifiers, or location.

3. Purposes

We process this information on the device only to provide the features you request: browsing and organizing files, creating and extracting archives, entering and remembering an encrypted-archive password, verifying an extraction, generating image and PDF thumbnails, previewing files, playing media, resuming the last playback position, and storing your appearance and behavior preferences.

The App does not use this information for advertising, cross-app tracking, user profiling, credit assessment, or any purpose unrelated to those features.

4. System permissions and timing

Access to files you choose: the App accesses a file, folder, or archive only when you select it, for example through the system document picker when opening, importing, or exporting. The App does not scan or read files you have not selected.

Saving images to your photo library: requested only when you choose to save an image to the system photo library, and used to write the images you specify. The App does not read your photo library.

Local network: triggered by the system framework only when you actively use a system feature such as screen mirroring or AirPlay, so that playback can be sent to the device you choose. The App does not scan or connect to other devices on your network on its own.

These permissions are managed by iOS, iPadOS, or macOS and can be withdrawn in system settings at any time. Refusing a permission affects only the feature that depends on it.

5. Storage and transfers

Preferences stored by the App live in local preferences (UserDefaults), playback progress and playback history live in a local SQLite database, and a remembered archive password stays on the device as well. The files you handle stay where you chose to keep them, either in the App sandbox or in the system Files app.

The App does not upload user files, does not send this information to our servers, and provides no account or cloud sync. Depending on your device and Apple account settings, iOS, iPadOS, or macOS may include App data and files in an Apple device backup or iCloud service under Apple terms and privacy policy, which we cannot access.

When you export or share a file, an extraction result, or playback content to another app, cloud drive, or device, the data is governed by the recipient and storage location you choose.

6. Third-party components and sharing

We do not sell your files or usage data, do not use them for advertising or tracking, and do not provide them to advertising platforms, data brokers, or independent analytics services. The App contains no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics SDK.

The App uses open-source components for local functionality, including libarchive, unrar, VLCKit, and GRDB. These components run on your device, process only the local data the App passes to them, and do not send file contents or usage records to their developers or to any server. Component names, purposes, and licenses are listed in the Open-source Notices.

App Store distribution, the system file picker, QuickLook, photo-library writing, AirPlay, and iCloud are provided by Apple. When you use those system features from the App, Apple processes the related data under its own terms and privacy policy.

7. Retention, deletion, and withdrawal

Local data remains until you delete it. You can delete files, extraction results, and records in the App. Deleting the App also removes the files inside the App sandbox, preferences, playback records, and information the App stored such as a remembered archive password. Data you saved in the system Files app or elsewhere is not deleted and must be managed where it is kept.

Because we hold no server copy, we do not store your files and cannot remotely view, export, recover, or delete device-only data. Contact us using the address below if you need instructions.

If a later version adds a feature that requires your consent, we will update this Policy first and obtain your consent again where required.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not designed for or directed to children. It has no account system, does not collect personal information such as names, ages, or contact details, shows no advertising, and performs no user profiling. We therefore do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If a minor uses the App, a parent or guardian should provide guidance and manage the files, archives, and playback content kept on the device.

9. Security

We limit data access through the system sandbox, system permission controls, and data minimization, and the App does not copy your files off the device on its own. No local-storage method eliminates every risk from a lost device, a jailbroken or rooted system, or malware that already controls the device, and the strength of archive encryption depends on the algorithm and password you choose.

Use a reliable device passcode and protect files and backups that you need to keep.

10. Changes and effective date

The current version of this Policy is 1.0 (Initial Release), effective on the first public release of the App. If purposes, information categories, sharing practices, or the way you exercise your rights materially change, or if a later version adds a feature that requires notice, we will update the version and effective date and provide a prominent notice or renewed consent before new processing where required by law.

If this Policy differs from a license or notice built into the App, the wording that better protects your rights and complies with applicable law applies.

11. Contact

For privacy questions or rights requests, contact privacy@kewoku.com. For product support, contact support@kewoku.com. Report security issues privately to security@kewoku.com.

If you email us, we receive your email address and any message or attachment you choose to provide. We use it only to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations, and retain it only for as long as reasonably necessary. Do not send unrelated private files or archive passwords. To protect your data, we may need to verify who is making the request. For device-only data, we will provide practical local instructions.
